Shali Peak Trek

Shali Peak the closest trekking peak in the close vicinity of Shimla offers a chance to a beginner and seasonal hikers to scale its summit. Clearly visible from famous the Ridge in Shimla, the isolated pinnacle is enshrined by a temple dedicated to Goddess Kali.

The two day trek starts from Mashobra village in outskirts of the town meandering down to the Riverside. The last stretch of the hike ascends up to the village Deola at the base of Peak.

Stay overnight here in Alpine Camps in the wilderness. Following morning after breakfast, hike up to Shali Peak following an ancient bridle path through an old coniferous forest. The hike offers a chance to admire rare Himalayan flora and lovely wildflowers. The concluding section to the summit brings the snow clad mountain ranges of Himalayan system face to face. Reach the top with a panoramic views and Sutlej River slicing through the deep valleys.

Post lunch hike down to the Camp and enjoy a crackling bonfire, live music and post dinner overnight in alpine tents. In the morning after leisure breakfast bidding goodbye to the mountains drive back as per your travel plans.

Day 01: Shimla – Mashobra – Thaila (Riverside) – GHO Four Season Camps Deola Village

In the morning drive fourty minutes to Mashobra, hike down to riverside through forests, villages, terraces and streams. By the banks of River enjoy a well deserved packed lunch and late afternoon continue your hike up to Village Deola.

Reach you campsite amidst a pine forest, after refreshing, explore the campsite. For evening Bonfire, light live music, mountain stories by your accompanying instructor and post dinner overnight in alpine tents.

Day 02: GHO Four Season Camps Deola Village – Shali Peak Hike – GHO Four Season Camps

Today after early breakfast we hike to the summit of Shali Peak. The trail advances through an old coniferous forest to the top. The summit is enshrined by a temple dedicated to Goddess Kali with panoramic views of snow clad Himalaya and numerous interlocked valleys. Day 03: GHO Four Season Camps – Shimla

Wrapping up your mountain memories, in the morning after breakfast drive back to Shimla.
